The 'Enhancing Mathematical Learning through Talk' project developed the subject knowledge and teaching expertise of Key Stage 1 teachers (5 to 7 year olds) through the collaborative study of maths talk. One of the central themes of the project was the role of discussion in generating enthusiasm and a spirit of enquiry in both teachers and children.
